Easy Autumnal Squares

With its nuts, apple pieces, raisins, and cinnamon, these squares are the perfect snack for the colder season! Super easy and quick to make, you will love this recipe!

Ingredients :

  • 4 large apples or 5 to 6 medium apples
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence or extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

      Preparation :

      1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F
      2. Peel the apples and cut them into large cubes.
      3. In a bowl, combine the diced apples, water, vanilla, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Mix well so that all the diced apples are covered with the mixture.
      4. Add the raisins, nuts, eggs, melted butter. Then, mix.
      5. Sift the two cups of flour and add them, mixing gradually to incorporate well and avoid lumps.
      6. Pour into a mold (suggested dimensions: 32 x 20 x 6 cm).
      7. Bake for 45 minutes.
      8. Once baked, check with a toothpick that the dough is well cooked. Leave to cool.
      9. Serve with vanilla ice cream or a cup of tea!
