Earl grey donuts

Ingredients

For the Earl Grey Donuts:

  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 2 spoons of Earl Grey loose leaf tea
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of hot milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Blueberry Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

To make Earl Grey Donuts

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F
  2. For the donuts themselves: Steep one spoon of Earl Grey tea in hot milk for 5 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together all the dry ingredients listed above including the spoon of Earl grey tea. In another bowl, stir together all of the wet ingredients listed above (including the steeped milk), make sure the milk is not too hot or it’ll cook the egg when combined with them later on).
  4. Finally, pour the dry ingredients into wet ingredients and stir just until combined; do not overmix or the donuts will be tough.
  5. Spray the donut pan with oil and fill them 2/3 full with batter and bake them for 10-13 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. If you're making mini donuts, bake them for 8-10 minutes.
  6. To make the glaze, place blueberries, powdered sugar, and lemon juice in a food processor and pulse until smooth .
  7. Let the donuts cool before dipping them.
  8. Enjoy!
